UAE - Mubasher: Farnek, the UAE-based smart and green facilities management (FM) company, has been awarded FM contracts for eight national pavilions valued at AED 16.7 million at Expo 2020.
The country pavilions comprise China, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Singapore, The Philippines, Bahrain, Morocco, and Pakistan, according to a press release on Tuesday.
The UAE-based company will mobilise more than 350 staff, as Expo 2020 are preparing for the 'World's Greatest Show'.
The largest contract secured by Farnek is for the Saudi Arabian pavilion, which is the second-largest pavilion after the UAE at Expo 2020.
Spanning over 13,000 square metres, the Saudi Arabian pavilion will be offered cleaning, pest control, operational support, and facility integration services under the contract.
The China pavilion, measuring over 4,600 square metres, is also a major contract for the company, as it will require more than 80 staff covering security, cleaning and pest control.
The CEO of Farnek, Markus Oberlin, said: "The Saudi Arabian pavilion presents us with a unique challenge which simply put is its sheer scale. During the six-month Expo 2020, it will be open to the public for up to 16 hours per day, which will require a dedicated team of over 130 technical and cleaning staff, working shifts throughout the show."
Meanwhile, Farnek’s Director of Business Development, Khaldun Aburok, commented: "We are currently working closely with Huawei developing smart security solutions tailored to our specific requirements, at our new AED 200 million staff accommodation centre – Farnek Village."
